The ever evolving label Supernature welcome home one of their favourite and most renown artist. The duo of Luca Saporito and Anthony Middleton are better known as Audiofly – one of the most established electronic acts on the UK scene. Audiofly join forces with one of the most known producers in the house and techno scene who goes under the new alias of Close Sense – joining in on the latest trend in dance music to have a mysterious alias of two or three words.
The label of Supernature has never really stuck to one particular artist or a certain genre of music and their new EP ‘Promises‘ is a collaboration of sounds that not only defines the sounds of two exciting artists but a label as well.
The lead track in this five track EP You Promised features vocals from Daniel Wilde, an artist Luca from Audiofly is a big fan of and you can see why. Daniel’s vocal talent is really captured in this dark house number, adding a real feel and relevance to the listeners. This is a track that is perfect for the dark-low main rooms and would certainly be a favourite of the clubbers who love to get down and dirty and lost in the base.
Part two of this huge collaboration is a more up-beat potential house classic full of rhythm; with a sexy baseline that will for sure get you moving. Gonzo is what I like to call a dance floor killer, full of funk and saxophone sounds, layered with a vocal that compliments the baseline perfectly. Every part of this track has been perfectly placed together and out of the five this is my favourite.
On the remix for the magnificent Gonzo is Italian techno artist Carola Pisaturo. As one of the first ladies of Italian techno, Carola Pisaturo brings a darker techno sound to the EP. Pisaturo takes Gonzo in a completely different direction while keeping the main elements of the original in tack, starting off slowly before the loops lead into a deep and dark techno sound with a powerful baseline bursting through, complimenting the vocal that does not get left behind.
The third collaboration between the partnership of Audiofly and Close Sense ends this EP on a perfect note. Moments of Truth is a very modern house record. It’s deep and is perfect for the outdoor terrace atmosphere, allowing house lovers to sway away with their drink in hand. It has a certain warmth to it with an on-going South American feel throughout.
The great thing about a collaboration between two acts (three artists in this case) is it allows the artists to learn and do something they wouldn’t normally do. This EP has a little bit of everything and if a free download wasn’t enough, there is also a ‘dub version’ of ‘You Promised’ available to download. Who said the dance music world is fuelled by money and lacked creativity? Being nice to the fans of music and the creativity of the underground will never go out of fashion.
